Camp Allegheny has a long history of being blessed by volunteers who have helped run programs, build buildings, set up networking services, install solar panels, clean up the grounds, counsel camps, and much, much more! If you would like to volunteer at Camp Allegheny we have a lot of ways to do so.

Work Crews and Individual Volunteers

We have amazing volunteers and work crews who make the ministry of Camp Allegheny possible by their efforts! Whether you are a licensed contractor, a hobbyist carpenter, or just someone who likes to help clean up the grounds, Camp Allegheny is blessed by any and all who want to volunteer. Here are some specific opportunities to get involved.

Work Week and Spring Work Day

As Spring finally breaks on the mountain, we set out to get the important projects done that will make sure our summer will be a happy, healthy, and successful one!

Fall Work Day

Just as we need volunteers to help us get ready for summer, we are grateful for the volunteers who help us kick recover from a busy summer and fall retreat season. Before the weather turns we focus on projects that will give us a head start in making improvements and changes to camp for year-round operations.

Projects for Fall Work Day will include:

  • Exterior Staining and Painting of Buildings

  • Interior Painting

  • Pouring a concrete slab

  • Roofing a small building

  • Tree and brush removal

  • Mowing and weedeating

  • Other projects dependent on skills and inclinations of volunteers.

On Your Schedule

We have work and projects year round that require varying degrees of skill and training. If you can’t make our Spring or Fall Work day, that doesn’t mean you can’t help out! We utilize work teams and individuals based on their availability and skill. Please get in touch if you would like to help but can’t make the Fall or Spring work days.

Adopt a Lodge

We have been blessed with AMAZING facilities at Camp Allegheny. The best way to make sure that those facilities stay fresh and up-to-date is for groups of folks to take responsibility for the upkeep of those facilities. A great example of this is Mt. Olive United Methodist Church of Sidman, whose Men’s Sunday School has adopted Cedar. In the past year they have worked to replace lighting, renovate bedrooms, rebuild the patio, and more. Their amazing work is preparing Cedar for years of ministry!
